Volunteer to help those facing eviction in Orange County
On Feb. 1, 2021, 211 OC (an organization that provides a resource database of health and human services and support, accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week online and through its multilingual hotline) will be launching the Eviction Rental Assistance (ERA) program and will be onboarding volunteers and interns to support the program on a part-time basis.
This program will serve households who will face eviction and homelessness as a direct result of the Covid-19 pandemic (due to job losses, work hours being cut, etc.). It is estimated that in Orange County, we have 50,000+ households facing this grim reality. While it’s possible the eviction moratorium will be extended because the money has been released by the federal government, some cities are choosing to start helping their residents immediately.
Volunteering will require access to a computer and phone. 211 will provide headsets and training.
